Master Class on Positioning: How to Carve Out a Unique Space in your Donors' Minds

Join us for Food System Stewards' first online workshop: a 90-minute master class on positioning with Monica Chen, Executive Director of New Roots Institute, and Alice Coleman, Development Manager of Balanced.

As organizations working toward food system transformation, we know our work addresses important problems of interest to a broad range of funders. But reaching those funders requires more than great programming. It requires intentional, strategic positioning: the actions you take to occupy a distinct place in the mind of your target audience. It spans branding, naming, marketing, and how you design your programs.

Monica and Alice will share how they've positioned their organizations to attract funders beyond the traditional animal advocacy and food systems funder pool; for example, how a rebrand may help to greatly diversify income. There will be plenty of room for conversation and Q&A.

When: Monday, May 4, 2026 · 12:00–1:30 PM EST Where: Online (Google Meet — link provided upon confirmation) Space is limited to allow for meaningful exchange.

If you'd like to participate, please submit a brief expression of interest by April 27 using the form linked below. We'll follow up with confirmed participants ahead of the session.
